ACAD (Asbestos Control and Abatement Division) was founded in 1994 by the Thermal Insulation Contractors Association (TICA) to meet a need for a trade association to improve the asbestos industry. Westland Environmental holds the award for 100% onsite audit compliance. This award ensures that asbestos removal contractors are working to, and maintain, the highest standards in the asbestos removal industry.

  • SSIP Accreditation

SSIP (Safety Schemes In Procurement) was launched with support from the HSE in 2009 as an overarching body to manage the many safety and competence schemes present in the marketplace. SSIP is an industry recognised pre-qualification system and gives peace of mind to our clients that we are committed to adhering to the highest health and safety standards. Westland Environmental holds an SSIP accreditation with SafeContractor in addition to Constructionline certification.

UKATA sets standards in asbestos training and ensures that its members meet those standards. Legislation is continually monitored and the Rules of Membership reviewed frequently in order to maintain the recognised UKATA standard of excellence.

It is legal requirement that all who may come across asbestos in their day to day work have been provided with asbestos awareness training. Furthermore, if they intentionally work on asbestos they must have had appropriate training specific to the tasks they will undertake.
